Magical Maths – Number Bonds to 10!

This week in Reception, we've been busy becoming number bond superstars! 

We started the week by exploring "5 and a bit" using ten frames and colourful counters. The children loved working out how many more we needed to make 10, and they were fantastic at spotting how the number of empty spaces helped us find the missing part.

Later in the week, we used cubes to build our number bonds to 10. We talked about the whole and the parts and practised splitting 10 in different ways. The children showed brilliant teamwork and thinking skills as they found all the ways to make 10.

We’re so proud of how confident and curious the children have been. Number bonds never looked so fun!
