This week in Maple Class, we transformed our role play area into a Christmas post office, and the children loved stepping into their new roles!
The children pretended to be postmen and postwomen, sorting letters and parcels, writing cards, wrapping presents and getting them ready to send. They used festive language, shared ideas, and worked together to deliver Christmas post around the role play area.
This imaginative play supported the children’s communication and language skills as they talked about their roles and followed simple instructions. It also encouraged cooperation, turn-taking and confidence as they explored real-life experiences through play.
It was wonderful to see the children so engaged, using their imaginations and bringing the Christmas post office to life.
