At St. Andrew’s CE Primary School, we are always excited to embrace new ways of learning, especially when it comes to technology and coding. Recently, Oak Class had a fantastic opportunity to dive into the world of coding using Microbits, thanks to our very own pupil expert who led the lesson!

What are Microbits?
Microbits are small programmable devices that allow children to learn coding in a fun and interactive way. They help develop computational thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

Pupil Expert Leads the Way
Our pupil expert, who has been honing their coding skills, took on the role of teacher and guided Oak Class through the basics of programming the Microbits. This peer-led approach not only empowered the expert but also inspired their classmates to engage deeply with coding.

The Lesson Highlights:

  • Learning how to write simple code to make the Microbit display messages and images.
  • Encouraging curiosity and perseverance as children experimented with their own ideas.

We are proud of Oak Class and our pupil expert for embracing this learning journey and showing great enthusiasm and resilience.
