Image of Popping with Our Senses!

This week in Science, Maple Class had an exciting lesson exploring all five senses as part of our sensitive bodies topic — and what better way to do it than with popcorn!

We started by listening carefully as we crushed the popcorn in our hands to hear the crackle and crunch sounds. It was different from the popping sound we imagined!

We used our eyes to look closely at the popcorn’s fluffy shape and its bumpy texture. Then we used our noses to smell the sweet and buttery scent.

Next, we touched the popcorn and talked about how soft and bumpy it felt.

Finally, the best part — we used our sense of taste to try the popcorn! Some children loved the flavour, some found it different, but everyone enjoyed exploring and describing what they experienced.

What a fantastic, sensory-filled science lesson!
